Packed with dignity

No child should have to borrow the basics before learning can begin.

About us

Started by students who saw a simple gap.

Kit of Hope began with two high school students noticing that some children were starting school without the tools most classmates take for granted. The solution is simple: gather the essentials, pack them beautifully, and get them to students before the first day becomes stressful.

A child should be able to begin learning with what is required to do so.

01

Practical

We focus on the basic supplies students use every day, not complicated programs that are hard to maintain.

02

Dignified

Kits are consistent, clean, and thoughtfully packed so support feels encouraging rather than singled out.

03

Student-led

Young people organise drives, pack kits, and build partnerships with the energy of students helping students.

Our kits

Standardised kits, thoughtfully curated.

Each kit is built around real classroom needs, then checked and packed so students receive supplies they can use immediately.

Younger Kids Kit

  • Notebooks
  • Pencils, eraser, sharpener
  • Crayons or colouring tools
  • Simple learning or activity sheets

Best for early primary students building confidence with daily classroom routines.

Older Kids Kit

  • Subject notebooks
  • Pens, pencils, eraser, sharpener
  • Geometry set (ruler, compass, set squares)
  • Highlighters
  • Worksheets or reading materials

Designed for upper primary and early secondary students managing multiple subjects.

Some kits may include short books or reading materials to encourage learning beyond the classroom.

Every bag is quality checked before handoff so students receive a complete, classroom-ready kit.

How it works

A simple system that turns kindness into school-ready kits.

1

Identify needs

We listen to schools and community partners to understand the supplies students are missing most.

2

Pack with care

Volunteers assemble consistent kits with notebooks, writing tools, study materials, and encouraging notes.

3

Deliver locally

Kits are handed to trusted partners so they reach students before supplies become a barrier.

4

Keep improving

Feedback helps us refine what goes into each kit and plan the next school supply drive.

Impact

Equal access starts with the basics.

When a child has the tools to learn, the classroom becomes a place of possibility rather than a reminder of what is missing. We believe access should never be the reason a student falls behind.
